q & a with stylist Bridie Gilbert...
Bridie Gilbert…super stylist and long time friend of Tigerlily gives us a little insight into her world of travel, shopping, style and favourite places around the world. She’s one creative force to be reckoned with; blessed with an eye for detail, impeccable style and a remarkable ability for having her finger on the pulse. She’s innovative, always ahead of the curve and quite frankly…we love having her around!
Which has been the most memorable Tigerlily shoot that you've worked on?
Summer 2013 in the Maldives with Courtney Eaton hands down. An amazing week spent with a great crew island hopping and building teepees surrounded by water in every shade of incredible pure blue you can imagine… take me back!

Give us your interpretation of the Tigerlily style?
She’s the girl everyone wants to be…Sun kissed and fresh from the ocean, lost on every continent with her paisley printed rucksack thrown over her shoulder overflowing with vintage slips and Indian cotton gauze dresses she picked up on her last adventure (and of course a bikini for every day of the week!).
Where in the world would you like to be right now?
Right this second? Moon Juice in LA.. I’m having serious withdrawals since I left.
No, in all seriousness lately I’ve been obsessing over the beaches in Lagos, Portugal…
What would you pack ?
Definitely no less than 5 bikinis (all Tigerlily of course!), this great vintage Indian cotton paisley printed onesie I bought recently in NYC, a good book, great pair of sunnies, Dr Marten sandals, Missoni beach towel, iPod (mandatory), my favourite washed nude silk slip dress for when the sun goes down, some form of clothing is necessary, oh and and a Proenza Schouler ombre hoodie I recently splurged on for something warm!
Sunglasses shopping. I have a collection for every occasion!
From my observations, you're a meticulously organised individual, how do you keep everything on track?
The iPhone Reminders App!
You have a chic, cool and refined style Bridie, tell us what your favourite pieces in your wardrobe are at the moment?
A vintage tie-dye silk shirt I found in NYC at the end of last year, Saint Laurent black leather bucket bag I fell in love with on Rodeo Drive, a silver Navajo feather bangle my mother gave me my for my birthday and a very exciting pair of new black Doc Martens with super tall platform soles I bought to combat winter.

Best styling advice you can give us?
Think about what you want to say about you, and say it right.
You’ve got a pretty impressive list of people that you’ve worked with on various exciting projects, what are some of your favourite memories?
You can’t really beat vintage shopping with Abbey Lee Kershaw in Capetown, South Africa when the shoot was rained out!

Where are your favourite places to shop?
Land’s End Store in Paddington is a must, it’s extremely chic & stylish. Owner Jane Jasper is a good friend, she has an amazing eye for luxury brands such as Balmain, Dion Lee, Celine and Proenza Schouler. I also love South West Trader in Sydney; Narnia & Malin Landaeus for amazing vintage finds that are a little left of center and Boookmarc in NYC; Fortnum & Mason and Liberty in London, the Rose Bowl Flea Markets in LA, City Lights bookstore in San Francisco and Le Bon Marche in Paris.

Favourite place in the world to grab a bite to eat?
I have two because it’s too hard to pick just one! Café Gratitude in LA and Marche des Enfants Rouge in Paris.

- What's the next exciting project for you? If you can tell us, that is...
There are a couple of exciting things in the pipeline but right now I’m focused on Sydney Fashion Week, I’m working with Kym Ellery to style her MBFWA ’14 Show.
